Performance of New Music

The goal in performing new music for arrangers and composers of big-band style charts is to give writers a chance to hear their work and to give the band an opportunity to perform new material.
If you have any big-band charts you have written but haven't heard, send us a copy and we'll send you a tape of it (them) back.

We are a rehearsal band - not a professional recording or studio group. Our rehearsal space is a large room at a local social club and the recording facilities and equipment are limited.
With that disclaimer out of the way, here are a few items of interest to anyone considering sending us some music.

• Instrumentation:
  • Saxophones - 2 Alto, 2 Tenor, Baritone all playing jazz
  • Trombones - 3 Tenor, 1 Bass with 2nd or 1st playing jazz
  • Trumpets - 4 with 2nd playing most of the jazz
  • Rhythm - Piano (electric), Bass (electric), Drums, Guitar (electric)
  • Vocals - Male or Female
• Doubles - 1st alto doubles clarinet; 2nd alto doubles soprano sax; 1st tenor doubles flute or clarinet; 2nd tenor doubles flute or clarinet; baritone doubles soprano, alto or tenor sax
  All trumpets double fluegelhorns
• Written parts - we need parts for each instrument and will return all scores and parts
• Recordings - we will send a cassette of the music back - no quality guarantee is provided - WYHIWUG - our best shot is our best shot
• Use of materials - permission to keep one copy for our use only
